David Moran is farmer in Eglon, West Virginia. He operates the Crimson Shamrock Farm on 120 acres of West Virginia mountain top where he raises Wensleydale sheep and Suri alpaca for the international fine fiber market.
He is a retired engineer, having spent his career working for the Navy in the field of oceanography and on ship designs for special operations.
He is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and holds a Ph.D. in Hydrodynamics. David was a professor at the US Naval Academy, taught at the University of Iowa and served as an Adjunct Professor at the George Washington University.
David Moran has two children, a son serving as an EA6B Pilot for the US Navy, and a daughter who is a former agent of the Central Intelligence Agency. He has two grandsons and one granddaughter (with a fourth grandchild due in December).
Candidate Moran is running for the First District seat as an Independent Write-In Candidate because he believes that the current political structure and options are not serving the true needs of the citizens of West Virginia (See Policy Issues.)
