We need both in our lives, but the trend of modern society is carrying us away from the root simplicity that we all need in order to find satisfaction in all aspects of our lives. Simplicity in our lives is a value that goes unrecognized in the competitive world. I will direct my attention increasingly to finding ways through which the power of our representational government can be utilized to bring the beauty of simplicity back to us. What does “simplicity” mean in my campaign? It means telling the truth in simple language. It means saying what is correct without covering up the message with an advertisement. It means saying things that are true whether or not they are “politically correct,” or whether or not they are popular. It means listening to your concerns and answering them to the best of my ability in your language, not in the verbiage of politics. Personally, I am tired of listening to people trying to sell me something that will bring them credit or profit. I have nothing to gain in this campaign for Congress other than the promise of being your representative for the values that you hold dear. Simplicity is that moment in our lives that gives us comfort and consolidation in the midst of a troubled and trying world. Our representatives seem to have forgotten that the simple American family and community life is what we are all seeking. We can be the best world power, not by waging war, but by conveying to the world the values that have made this nation great in the past and will continue to do so in the future. Life is not about power, or money, or control or who is the best. Life is about finding happiness through hard work and pure simple honest commitment to the character of humanity that makes us a people.
Let’s get strong, let’s get back to work, and let’s cherish the
simplicity that we own as men and women. And let’s demand that our
